Research and Insights is the research and strategy hub of The Aram Initiative.

Our purpose is to deepen our understanding of the dynamics within Sri Lankan communities both in the diaspora and within Sri Lanka and use this knowledge to drive impactful solutions.

By leveraging the academic resources of the diaspora, sharing insights, publishing findings, papers and aiding the development of initiatives of Aram or other organisations, this facet of the Aram Initiative plays a crucial role in shaping sustainable change.

We stand at a unique moment in Sri Lanka’s development journey. While it faces significant challenges from brain drain and resource constraints, we also see unprecedented opportunity. The combination of global diaspora expertise, local innovation, and digital connectivity creates the potential for transformative change. • Explore Challenges: Conduct in-depth research on the issues identified during our trips, utilising the expertise and academic resources of the diaspora.
• Raise Awareness: Publish insights, opinions and findings to bring attention to critical challenges and attract other organisations and collaborators who can contribute to addressing these issues.
• Support Initiatives: Provide evidence-based insights to guide the Initiative Team in designing and implementing impactful and sustainable programs.
